PURPOSE of UMW:

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

The Hope Mills UMC UMW supports several projects on an ongoing basis including:  migrant school kits, tennis shoe tree for migrant workers, college goody boxes, reseeding program, Bibles for graduating high school seniors and confirmation class graduates; and many others globally and within the community as needed.

All women are invited to membership in the UMW in an individual circle of choice and in joint quarterly meetings as well as special Methodist and inter-faith activities form time to time.

HEALTH KITS

UMW will collect health kits from 1 February 2009 through 9 March 2009.  Please leave at the church.
Wrap all NEW items in the hand towel, and place this bundle inside a sealed one-gallon plastic bag with zipper style closure.

Kits are inexpensive and easy to assemble.  PLEASE place ONLY those items listed in the kits.  These kits are carefully planned to provide the largest number of people in the greatest number of situations.  Strict rules govern entry of items into international locations, therefore it is extremely important to have the kits contain only those items listed and nothing more.  Also, DO NOT include any personal notes, money, or additional materials of any kind as they must be painstakingly removed and may delay shipment.
