OUR HISTORY and PURPOSE

Enjoying a rich heritage since it's founding in 1902, Hope Mills UMC was first located in a building on West Patterson Street in the heart of the Hope Mills community. The present sanctuary, built in 1963, is located at 4955 Legion Road.

For more than 105 years, the church has been serving Christ in this community and around the world.

We exist to extend the Kingdom of God, providing a light and pathway, that will lead the unchurched, uncommitted and unsaved to Christ.

We are able to accomplish this purpose through:

  • Worship of God; the study of His word & Fellowship with others in group activities

  • The deepening of one's understanding of Christian love and the preaching of perfect love (Shalom).

  • The provision of training and leadership adequate to spiritually enrich all ages

  • Providing an atmosphere of open fellowship within the church community

Such that we can give everyone a sense of belonging and worth within our church while striving to bring peace, not only to ourselves, but also to extend it worldwide.

With gratitude for the past and a vision for the future, we are excited about the future ministry of our church.

We invite you to share with us in this endeavor.
